As much as I love the modding scene and D2 probably being my all time favorite (arpg) game of all time, I think it's amazing what they did, and I'm always curious and open to innovation and different platforms too. And I can see me playing this on couch for TV or beamer now too without any hussle.Īs for your thought about who cares, I don't agree with that generalisation at all. For a console port, the bases for a D2 port seems definately there, although, I'll personally play this on PC mainly. Still, I appreciate D2R as separate 'mod' for now but I'm looking forward, where this can be used. ![]() ![]() What other console platform support options I haven't looked into or seen yet. One time native support will never beat crowsourced. They did a great job with the controls at first glance seems actually pretty solid in D2R PC, I dislike the D3 console interface. Use that with D2 on Steam Deck and youre golden, no D2R required. I love playing D2R booting up to play during my breaks at work. The animations and graphics are amazing on their own.Īnd yes, I can see some port in the future, although it won't be straight forward as they altered code which can't be solved with soft modding. Diablo 4 on steam deck General Discussion Madao-21262 March 2, 2023, 9:45pm 1 I have been loving my time Steam deck with Diablo 2R, since Switch reso and performance was kinda bad for me. I actually like the old graphics as well, especially at higher res with some filter, like PD2 for instance distributes, although I really appreciate what they did in D2R though and I think that is far superior resolution-solution wise to what we've got to work with in the modding scene with D2's ancient limitations. That being said, I didn't consider using a controller mod for D2, wrote that post very tired of course there is one :) I'll check that one out, thanks, last time I checked I wasn't sold, but that's a long time ago, so might be different. ![]() Definitely not selling PC short, big PC afficianado here, and also experienced mod user.
